FAQ

Championing Balanced Parenting Rights

Find answers to common questions about child custody reform and our mission.

What is the child custody industrial complex?

The entire system of child custody decision making and oversight that includes judges, lawyers, psychologists, coparenting therapists, child custody evaluators, parent coordinators, supervised monitors, child protective services, social workers, and forensic accountants.

What is the Balanced Coparenting Initiative’s main goal?

Restore trust in the child custody framework by implementing common sense solutions that ultimately benefit the children that live in multiple households. In our current stage we are focused on conducting researching, gathering empirical data, and collecting stories from those impacted by the current system.

Is Balance Coparenting Initiative focused on the need of Fathers?

No. Mothers as well as Fathers have reported being alienated by the other parents, coercive control, false allegations of abuse (physical and sexual), delay tactics in court, and unfair allocation of attorney fees and child support. We believe that children thrive when both parents are meaningfully involved in their children’s lives but that bad actors have to be held accountable as their actions impact children in harmful ways.
